200 x 50 mm concrete sleeper
A concrete sleeper slots in between the posts, right under the panels. It holds the soil back, stops dogs digging under and keeps the steel off wet ground. It works with any top style, and it's the tidy way to finish a fence on a sloping block. Shown in Ironstone.

Colorbond panels are straight and level. On a sloping block, each panel steps down at the post, so the ground falls away underneath and leaves a triangle-shaped gap at the low end of every panel. It's normal, not a defect, and there are two ways to deal with it: a concrete plinth along the base fills the gaps and holds the soil back, or the panels can be raked on an angle so the bottom follows the ground.
Raked means a raked top and a raked bottom, so the whole fence runs in one smooth line with the hill. It suits gentle, even slopes. Stepped keeps every panel square and level, which suits steeper or uneven ground. We'll tell you which works best when we walk your boundary.
If your yard slopes, your neighbour's ground sits higher than yours, or you have a dog that digs, a concrete plinth along the base is worth it. It fills the gaps, keeps soil off the panels and stops pets getting under.
In Queensland, a dividing fence up to 2 m high doesn't need council approval, so 1.5 m, 1.8 m and 2.0 m fences are all fine. Once you go over 2 m — a 2.1 m fence, or a topper that takes it past 2 m — you'll need council approval. If you want the extra height, we'll walk you through it.
