Help us quote you faster
A few quick details from you means a sharper preliminary quote — usually back to you within 24 hours. Here's how to get us what we need in a couple of minutes.
1
Count your panels
Most fences run in 2.4m sections between posts. Count the sections and × 2.4 for a rough length — then tell us the height you want (most are 1.8m). See the diagram below.
2
Retaining walls too
Older timber walls run in 2.4m bays as well — count the bays × 2.4 for length, and count the stacked sleepers for height. Most of our wall jobs are an upgrade from timber to concrete.
3
Tell us the side
Just tell us which side you want the fence or wall built on — left, right or rear. Not sure which side is yours? No stress — we'll check it on Landchecker for you.
4
Send a couple of photos
A few phone photos of the existing fence, wall or boundary tell us more than a paragraph — attach them with your request.
How to measure a fence in under a minute
Length: count the panels × 2.4m. Height: pick the one you want (1.5m · 1.8m · 2.1m).
Tap to enlarge
5 panels × 2.4m = ≈ 12m long · and tell us the height — 1.5m, 1.8m (standard) or 2.1m
Same idea for a retaining wall
Length: count the bays × 2.4m. Height: just count how many sleepers are stacked.
Tap to enlarge
4 bays × 2.4m = ≈ 9.6m long · 4 sleepers stacked ≈ 0.8m high (each sleeper ≈ 200mm)
Most retaining wall jobs are an upgrade from an old timber wall to concrete sleepers — once concrete sleepers are set properly on steel H-beam posts, replacing them is rare.
Not sure on the numbers? Send it anyway.
A rough count and a photo is plenty — we'll confirm every measurement on site before you pay a cent.
