How Much Do Automatic Driveway Gates Cost in Brisbane?

Automation is the part everyone asks about first. Here's an honest guide to what a driveway gate really costs, and what drives the price.

Automatic driveway gates are one of the fastest-growing things we're asked about, and the first question is always the same: what does it cost? Here's an honest guide, without the sales spin.

Why there's no single number

A driveway gate isn't an off-the-shelf product. The price depends on the width of your opening, the material, whether it swings or slides, the ground it sits on, and the automation you add on top. A single swing gate on a flat, tidy driveway is a very different job to a wide double or sliding gate on a slope with a motor, keypad and intercom.

What moves the price

  • Single vs double vs sliding — sliding gates and wide doubles need heavier posts, tracks or bracing, so they sit higher up the range.
  • Material — Colorbond, timber, aluminium and tubular steel all price differently and suit different looks.
  • Automation — a motor, remotes, keypad, intercom and safety sensors add cost, and the wiring and power need planning in.
  • The site — slope, access and how the posts have to be footed all matter.

A broad guide

As a rough guide only, a supplied-and-installed driveway gate typically ranges from around $2,000 for a simpler manual gate up to $10,000+ for a wide automated sliding setup with all the trimmings. Automation and heavier gates sit at the top of that. These are broad market ranges to set expectations — the only real number comes from a measure and quote, and ours is free.

Plan for automation even if you wait

Plenty of customers install the gate now and add the motor later. If that's you, tell us up front — we'll set it up with the right clearances and wiring so adding automation down the track is simple, not a rebuild.
