PVC has real strengths and real trade-offs. An honest look at where it fits — and where we'd steer you elsewhere.

PVC (vinyl) fencing gets asked about a fair bit, usually by people who've seen the clean white picket look online. It has genuine strengths and genuine trade-offs, so here's an honest take on where it fits in Queensland — and where we'd point you somewhere else.
PVC earns its place for a picket-style front fence or a decorative boundary where the look is the point. For a tall private back boundary that has to block wind and take knocks, we'd usually steer you to Colorbond instead — you'll get more fence for your money and a tougher result.
The honest answer is that the best fence is the one that suits the job. Tell us the look you're after and how the fence will get used, and we'll tell you straight whether PVC is the right call.
